City University of Hong Kong Foundation (CityUHK Foundation) was launched on 1 November 2014 at the CityU's 30th Anniversary Banquet, a meaningful and joyful occasion that brought together more than 800 supporters, alumni, students, faculty and staff.

Professor Way Kuo, CityUHK Foundation's Chairperson and the University President said, "On behalf of the University, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all benefactors of the University. Without your continual and dedicated support, much of the University’s and our students' achievements would not be possible. To continue our journey of success and achieve greater excellence, we’ll launch the CityUHK Foundation on this memorable occasion."

The CityUHK Foundation launching ceremony was officiated by the inaugural Honorary Chairman of the Foundation and Council Chairman, Mr Herman Hu, Professor Way Kuo, and members of the inaugural Board of Governors, Mr Winfred Chan, Dr Steve Chen, Mr David Chow, Dr Peter Ho, Mr Kenneth Koo, Mr James Liu, Mr Cliff Sun, Dr Joseph Yeung, as well as the Ex-officio Members of the Board, Professor Roderick Wong and Mr Simon Tang.

The CityUHK Foundation is a unique platform for the University’s fundraising endeavours, to strengthen ties with our benefactors, to bolster the University’s fundraising capabilities and to ensure financial sustainability in the pursuit of academic and research excellence.
