CityUHK marked a significant moment in global sustainability by welcoming His Excellency Mr Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the UN and President of the Assembly and Chair of the GGGI, to speak at the Distinguished Lecture during the SEE's 15th Anniversary Symposium on 6 December. His presence underscored CityUHK’s progress in advancing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and its role in connecting international sustainability initiatives with Hong Kong’s environmental leaders.

A delegation from the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong province visited CityUHK on 5 December, following a meeting in January this year. They discussed further exchanges and cooperation in technological innovation with CityUHK senior management.

CityUHK was honoured to receive a generous donation from CMA Testing, a subsidiary of The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, in support of the University’s innovation and entrepreneurial endeavours, particularly the HK Tech 300 programme. An MoU signing ceremony was held on 29 November to mark the significant milestone on a closer partnership.

CityUHK hosted the first Shenzhen–Hong Kong Intellectual Property Forum and the launch ceremony for the National Intellectual Property Operation (Hetao Shenzhen) Transformation Pilot Platform on 4 December.

Delegations from the China Association for Science and Technology visited CityUHK on December 3 to gain an in-depth understanding of the University's current research and development status.

On 3 December, CityUHK hosted a pivotal session, titled “University Governance and Innovation”, at the Global University Presidents & Leaders Summit 2024, engaging in an enlightening dialogue with academic leaders from globally renowned universities.

CityUHK is immensely proud to announce that our esteemed Pro-Chancellor, Dr Chung Shui-ming, has been honoured as one of the Non-Executive Directors of the Year (2024). Dr Chung’s association with CityUHK dates back to 1998. Since his appointment as Pro-Chancellor in 2016, he has continued to be a pillar of strength and guidance for the University.
