CityUHK is committed to developing partnerships with esteemed universities worldwide to foster greater academic and research collaboration. CityUHK recently further committed to a co-operative relationship with the Science, Engineering and Technology Group at KU Leuven, which has a history of nearly 600 years and is the oldest Catholic university in the world.

CityUHK hosted an Alumni Reunion Dinner in Beijing on 24 August to mark the 30th anniversary of CityUHK. Alumni from different provinces and cities in mainland China came together to celebrate the remarkable achievements of their alma mater over the past 30 years.

Around 900 new students kicked off their university life at a welcoming ceremony on 27 August at CityUHK.

CityUHK is pleased to announce the establishment of the JC STEM Lab of Innovative Thermo-Fluid Science, supported by a generous donation of HK$10 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Lab, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, has great potential to enhance zero-carbon direct emissions nuclear energy research and fill the gap in local energy research.

Professor Hu Jinlian, Chair Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at CityUHK, received the 15th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize from the Chinese Academy of Engineering in recognition of her highly innovative work in advancing shape-memory polymers and textiles.

A Collaborative Framework Agreement was signed between CityUHK and the HKAGE. By combining the expertise and resources of CityUHK and the HKAGE, gifted students will be offered unparalleled opportunities to develop their skills, engage with industry, and contribute to the advancement of science and technology in Hong Kong.

Dr Choi Yuk-lin, Secretary for Education of the Hong Kong SAR Government, was briefed on the latest developments on innovation of CityUHK during a visit on 19 August.

Alumni in Singapore gathered to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CityUHK at an Alumni Reunion Dinner of the University held on 17 August in Singapore.

CityUHK is hosting an exhibition titled "Story of the Ocean Giants: Cetaceans and Sea Turtles", featuring a wide variety of aquatic animal specimens, including 30 cetacean and sea turtle specimens donated and authorized by the AFCD, along with five true-to-scale models of these animals, referencing live individuals found in Hong Kong waters.

CityUHK announced the establishment of the College of Computing to further promote interdisciplinary research, attract top-tier talent, encourage pioneering exploration, and drive innovation for the betterment of society and the economy.
