Article by Professor Virginia Harper Ho Selected for the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR)
A recent article of Professor Virginia HARPER HO titled “Modernizing ESG Disclosure” was selected for inclusion in the list of top 20 articles selected for the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review (ELPAR). This article was selected for the top 20 list from a pool of hundreds of law journal articles on environmental topics published between August 2021 and July 2022, and will be published in ELPAR in August 2023.
The article argues that the SEC should standardize corporate ESG disclosures by introducing core ESG disclosures on climate-related financial risk, human capital, and related corporate governance matters for all reporting companies based on existing internationally accepted standards, including the TCFD climate risk disclosure framework. It also recommends additional sector-specific ESG reporting on a comply-or-explain basis and urges Congress to back these measures and to consider additional policy support, such as temporary liability exemptions.
ELPAR is a joint publication of the Environmental Law Institute’s Environmental Law Reporter and Vanderbilt University Law School. The objective of ELPAR is to make some of the year’s best environmental law or policy ideas more accessible to policy-makers and practitioners.
Congratulations to Virginia!
