CityUHK School of Law Alumni Homecoming 2024
Around 100 alumni, students and staff joined the School of Law Open Day and Drinks Reception at the Alumni Homecoming on 2 November 2024 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK).
Professor LIN Feng, Dean of the School of Law, first warmly welcomed all the alumni and students to come back home. During his speech, he highlighted the School’s recent achievements, including significant increases in the intake numbers of Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM) students, selection of LLB programme as one of the University’s flagship programmes, inviting Senior Counsel and partners of law firms to teach some law courses and designing a new course so that students can study different areas of law all within the same course.
After that, a Roundtable Discussion on the “Impact of Generative AI on Legal Education and Practice” was held. Mr. Nick CHAN, BBS, MH, JP (Partner, Squire Patton Boggs), Mr. Danny KAN (Partner, Stephenson Harwood), and Professor Alexander LOKE (Associate Dean, School of Law) were invited to share the challenges and opportunities arising from the use of Generative AI. After the presentation, the participants raised questions and interacted with the speakers in the Q&A session moderated by Professor Michael TSIMPLIS (Professor, School of Law).
A Drinks Reception was held after the Roundtable Discussion to provide a platform for networking among alumni, students, and teachers.

2024年11月2日，約100名校友，學生和教職員參加了香港城市大學（城大）法律學院開放日和酒會，共賀三十週年校慶。
法律學院院長林峰教授首先熱烈歡迎校友和學生返回母校團聚。在演講中，他介紹了法律學院近期取得的成就，包括法律學學士和法學碩士課程學生人數大幅增加，法律學學士課程入選大學旗艦課程之一，學院邀請資深大律師和律師事務所合夥人參與授課，以及設計新課程讓學生可以在同一門課程中學習不同領域的法律知識。
隨後，學院舉辦了一場名為“生成式人工智能對法律教育和實踐的影響”的圓桌討論。 Squire Patton Boggs合夥人陳曉峰先生, Stephenson Harwood 合夥人簡家豪先生，城大法律學院副院長陸飛鴻教授獲邀分享使用生成式人工智能所帶來的挑戰和機遇。演講結束之後，聽眾向講者提問，與講者積極互動。提問環節由法律學院Michael TSIMPLIS教授主持。
圓桌討論結束後舉行了酒會，校友、學生和教師品嘗美酒美食，暢談近況，互相交流。
對所有參與者來說，這是一個難忘而快樂的週末。我們期待再次相聚於法律學院！
