HKICS Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2019
The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS) Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2019 was successfully held at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) on Saturday, 21 September 2019. This Corporate Governance Paper Competition has been organized by HKICS since 2006 in order to raise the awareness of the importance of good governance for undergraduates of local universities. The theme for this year’s is “How is good governance of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) similar to, and different from, good corporate governance of public companies”.
Twenty-one teams of undergraduates have submitted their papers. The six finalist teams were selected for presentation on the Saturday to compete for the Best Presentation Award. Of the six teams, two teams came from our CityU law students. The boy group (with one former LLB student, CHAN Pak Hay (who is currently our PCLL student) and one HKBU student) was awarded the Champion for Paper Writing, while the girl group (with two LLB students, KWONG Jasmine Nicole and LEUNG Yu Yan Ruby) was awarded the Second Runner-up for Paper Presentation. They have done well in the competition and the School is very proud of their achievements.
香港特許秘書公會 (HKICS) 2019年企業管治論文比賽及頒獎禮於 2019年9月21日 (星期六) 在香港城市大學 (簡稱“城大”) 順利舉行。這次企業管治論文比賽由HKICS自2006年開始舉辦, 目的是讓本地大學本科生提高對良好管治重要性的認知。今年的主題是「非政府組織的良好管治如何與上市公司的良好公司治理相似及不同」。
二十一隊本科生小組於數月前已提交論文。六支入圍隊伍於這星期六作最後衝刺並角逐最佳陳述獎。在六支隊伍中, 有兩支隊伍來自城大法律學院的學生。男子組 (一名前法律學學士課程學生陳柏熙(現為法學專業證書課程學生)及一名香港浸會大學學生) 獲頒Champion for Paper Writing, 而女子組 (兩名法律學學士課程學生鄺嘉熙及梁瑜殷) 獲頒Second Runner-up for Paper Presentation。他們在此次比賽中表現出色, 學院也為他們取得好成績而感到驕傲。
