As a long-awaited annual cultural event, the
CityU Arts Festival 2022/23 achieved great success in rolling a new art wave! With the theme of “Echo of Arts”, the Festival invited leading artists to collaborate with CityU students and presented eight extraordinary performances.
Concerts of classical and contemporary masterpieces took the audience on an exciting time travel. The greatest music works of all time included harp concerto of Saint-Sa?ns, opera arias of Mozart and golden oldies of The Beatles.
The Festival's grand finale,
CityU Musical: Fiddler on the Roof, surprised the audience by having Professor Way KUO,
the then President of the University, playing the Fiddler, the soul character of the story on November 2022. It was Professor KUO’s very first stage performance and cooperation with 27 CityU students in reproducing this legendary Broadway Musical. Professor KUO enjoyed rehearsing and bonding with student performers and the production team, presenting a sparkling performance that impressed the full-house audience with laughter and tears.
The three acclaimed musical shows drew a perfect end to the months-long Festival.
