CityU “IDEA Campaign” is a large-scale annual event at CityU now in its 7th year. “I” means Inclusion, “D” is Diversity, “E” represents Equity and “A” stands for Awareness. The four letters illuminate our determination to enlighten the CityU community with the “Awareness” of “Inclusion”, “Diversity”, and “Equity” on campus through love and care.
The main theme of IDEA Campaign 2023 was “Embracing Diversity”, which encouraged understanding of LGBT+, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities or special educational needs (SEN), and intergenerational harmony. In this campaign, we prepared exhibitions, game booths and workshops to promote awareness of embracing the differences and uniqueness among individuals.
CityU's SEN Service will continue to organise activities, workshops and lectures for students and staff to enhance their understanding of students with SEN and to convey the message of equality, inclusion and diversity on campus and even in the community. In addition, in order to enable students with special educational needs to enjoy a vibrant university life, the SEN Service also organises different workshops and activities for them to diversify their personal development, develop their career interests, and explore their potentials so as to equip themselves and contribute to society in the future.
