
The College of Science (CSCI) hosted its Orientation on 29 August 2023, welcoming a new cohort of eager and enthusiastic freshmen to the academic year 2023-24.
Professor Raymond Chan, Dean of CSCI warmly welcomed the new students. Apart from concentrating on academic studies, he encouraged freshmen to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the College and the University and to contribute to the community.
Professor Daniel Ho, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education), Professor Alex Wong, Associate Dean (Outreach and Internationalisation), Professor Jon Lo, Student Affairs Coordinator, Professor Andy Siu, Programme Leader of the Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship programme (GREAT), and Ms. Heidy Wan, Career and Employability Consultant of the Career and Leadership Centre then introduced freshmen to the various opportunities such as overseas exchanges, study tours, internships, mentorship programme, and numerous challenges.
Representatives of CSCI Student Chapter 2022-23, Miss Galuh Jesslyn, Mr. Jatoi Ali, Mr. Alex Cheung, and Mr. Ivan Cheung also grabbed the chance to introduce Student Chapter to the freshmen, recruit new blood to join them and encourage them to participate in the upcoming activities. To recognise their dedication and commitment to the Student Chapter, the Dean presented certificates to them as a token of appreciation.
The College of Science wishes all students a joyful and fruitful university life ahead.
