
Professor Chun-Sing Lee, Dean of College of Science, was invited to the “HK TECH Tiger Seminar with Secondary School Headmasters” on 21 July 2022. Co-organised by the Talent and Education Development Office and Master Insight, the event was attended by headmasters and representatives from 29 secondary schools.
Starting with a warm welcome by the President, the event featured fruitful sharings on the latest development of CityU, including the recently approved campus in Dongguan, the “HK TECH Tiger” programmes for talented students, as well as the innovation and entrepreneurship programme “HK TECH 300”.
Professor Lee introduced the special features of the undergraduate programmes offered by the College, particularly the flagship Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT), the newly established double degree programme in Laws and Computing Mathematics, and the joint bachelor’s degree programmes with Columbia University, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Manchester. He also highlighted some STEM activities organised by the College for secondary school students, including the first-of-its-kind CityU Science Patent Challenge.
Following the seminar, Professor Kenneth Leung, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP) and Acting Head of Department of Chemistry, guided a visit to SKLMP and featured the 10-year "Global Estuaries Monitoring" project endorsed by the United Nations.
