Professor Xunli Wang, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, has been awarded the Croucher Senior Research Fellowship 2021 for his excellent scientific research achievements.
Professor Wang conducts research at the interface between condensed matter physics and materials science. He applies state-of-the-art neutron and synchrotron scattering techniques to study phase transformation and deformation in advanced materials. Since joining CityU, he has established Hong Kong as an international hub for neutron scattering research, helping to set up Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Joint Laboratory on Neutron Scattering. He is also an Elected Fellow of the Neutron Scattering Society of America, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and American Physical Society.
The fellowship is an annual competitive exercise conducted by the Croucher Foundation. Congratulations to Professor Wang for his exceptional achievements!
