
Freshmen of the College of Science (CSCI) were warmly greeted at the College Orientation held on 23 August 2022.
Professor Chun-Sing Lee, Dean of CSCI began the event by extending a warm welcome to all freshmen and encouraging them to take part in various enrichment programmes and extensive opportunities offered by the College and the University, especially the large-scale innovation and entrepreneurship programme, HK Tech 300.
“My advice to you is: Engage wholeheartedly in your personal growth and your academic studies. Take every opportunity to polish your hard and soft skills,” said Professor Lee.
At the College Orientation, Professor Daniel Ho, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education), Professor Yang Ren, Associate Dean (Internationalisation), Dr. Jon Lo, Student Affairs Coordinator, Dr. Andy Siu, Programme Leader of the Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship programme (GREAT), as well as Ms. Elaine Chow, Career and Employability Consultant of the Career and Leadership Centre shared with students some useful tips to ease their undergraduate journey and a glimpse of the numerous opportunities they can explore at CSCI and CityU community.
Miss Coco Su and Mr. Alvin Wijaya, President and Vice-President (External) respectively of the College Student Chapter 2021-22 took the opportunity to introduce the Student Chapter and invited fellow students to join as Committee members. To recognise the outstanding work and commitment to the Student Chapter, the Dean presented certificates to Coco and Alvin as a token of appreciation.
The College of Science wishes all students a happy and fruitful university life ahead.
