About 80 teachers from 4 different primary schools participated in the Teachers’ Development Day@CityU on 9 November, organised by the Office of the Provost. Being warmly greeted, the visitors attended special talks and workshops designed by CityU colleagues.
This year's CityU Information Day was successfully held on 22 October 2022 in hybrid mode, attracting more than 10,000 visitors on campus and even more joining online. The College of Science (CSCI) has prepared a series of activities, including online and on-campus talks on admission and development opportunities, as well as lab tours, with the participation of our faculty members, alumni and students.
In collaboration with Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School (TKOGSS), 10 students from the College of Science served as ‘student teachers’ and gained hands-on teaching experience in a real classroom setting on 12 October 2022.
Co-organized by the Provost Office and the College of Science, the CityU Science Patent Challenge 2022 has received positive responses from 24 secondary schools. More than 30 secondary school teachers and students from these schools attended an entrepreneurship and intellectual property workshop of the CityU Science Patent Challenge on 8 October 2022.
A delegation from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) comprising Mr Ricky Chan, Executive Deputy Chairman, Mr Jason Chiu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Startup Council, Mr Bryant Chan, Chairman of FHKI Education Committee, and Ms Jamie Cheng, FHKI Associate Director, visited the College of Science on 5 August 2022.
Professor Chun-Sing Lee, Dean of College of Science, was invited to the “HK TECH Tiger Seminar with Secondary School Headmasters” on 21 July 2022. Co-organised by the Talent and Education Development Office and Master Insight, the event was attended by headmasters and representatives from 29 secondary schools.
