Seventy talented prospective PhD candidates around the globe attended the third Science Summer Camp online on 13 and 14 July 2021 to explore opportunities of research education at CityU Science.
As the first of its kind in Hong Kong, the new Department of Biostatistics is uniquely positioned under the College of Science to achieve its vision of advancing health data science, as well as enhancing collaborations with existing experts to synergise interdisciplinary education and research across the University.
The State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution (SKLMP) at CityU has been endorsed by the United Nations (UN) to initiate a ten-year "Global Estuaries Monitoring (GEM)" Programme to collect and study environmental pollutants in the estuaries of major cities around the globe so as to formulate a long-term policy of promoting clean estuaries.
This year, 5 students from the College of Science have been admitted into the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme with Columbia University. YAO Heyuan, a student from Computing Mathematics shared with us, “I am really excited, delighted and honoured for being admitted to the programme and can enjoy my undergraduate studies in two charming and excellent universities. I look forward to the upcoming opportunities and challenges from a new environment. It will be an unforgettable experience in my life!”
A delegation of 15 members from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) led by Mr. Ricky Chan and Mr. Anthony Lam, Deputy Chairmen of FHKI, visited College of Science on 2 February 2021.
Professor Xunli Wang, Head and Chair Professor of the Department of Physics, delivered a talk titled “Neutron Scattering – A giant microscope” at CityU’s BOLD Forum.
