Prof. Pfeiffer (Chair Professor of One Health) has recently delivered an invited presentation at Hokkaido University’s Program for Leading Graduate Schools in Sapporo, Japan, as part of the 22nd Leading Seminar series under their programme entitled “Fostering Global Leaders in Veterinary Science toward Contributing to One Health”.
(Prof. Dirk Pfeiffer) (Chair Professor of One Health/Associate Dean (Research) of Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences/Director of the Centre for Applied One Health Research and Policy Advice) has received the ‘Roger Morris Award for Outstanding Contribution to Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics’ at the 15th International Symposium of Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics (ISVEE 15) which took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 12 - 16 November 2018.

CityU’s Provost, Prof. Alex Jen, and the Dean of the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, Prof. Michael Reichel, visited the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The two universities have been collaborating for the past decade to establish a veterinary school in Hong Kong and the visit further strengthened this successful relationship.

Prof. Pfeiffer (Chair Professor of One Health) was one of the African swine fever experts invited to join a three-day emergency meeting convened by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to review the most recent developments in China following the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in the country, and to develop a regional response to the threat of ASF spread to other countries in Asia.
