Members of the Court were presented with an extensive update on the recent developments and achievements of CityUHK at its 20th meeting on 22 November.

Hang Seng and CityUHK announced a new collaboration: The Hang Seng x CityUHK HK Tech 300 Innovation Programme on 26 November. It aims to accelerate the growth of local start-ups while nurturing a new generation of talent for the innovation and technology sectors. With this announcement, Hang Seng becomes the first innovative partner of CityUHK HK Tech 300 from the banking sector to promote sustainable entrepreneurship.

A Long Service Award Ceremony was held at CityUHK on 7 November to honour and appreciate 237 dedicated long-serving staff for their longstanding commitment to the University.

A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China visited CityUHK on 30 October. The two sides exchanged views on the latest developments in various fields, such as technology and innovation, and explored opportunities for strengthening cooperation, including CityUHK’s participation in the construction of the National Centre of Technology Innovation.

CityUHK proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary on 24 November with a grand banquet attended by stakeholders, friends, staff, students and alumni. This milestone event also marked the 10th anniversary of the CityUHK Foundation. Over 350 esteemed guests gathered to share in the joy of the University's remarkable journey and to learn about its latest achievements.

A delegation from CityUHK, composed of faculty, students and alumni, will team up with students from Mary Rose School and TWGHs Chi-Li Pao School to tackle the 10-kilometre race in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon in February 2025.

On 20 November, CityUHK held the opening ceremony for the “CityUHK@Sham Shui Po” Exhibition. Through a rich tapestry of themes—education, community, technology, arts and culture—the exhibition highlights the unique bonds that CityUHK shares with the Sham Shui Po District in which the University is located.

CityUHK was ranked 25th globally, eighth in Asia and second in Hong Kong in the inaugural “Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Ranking 2025 in association with Schmidt Science Fellows”, highlighting CityUHK’s outstanding achievements in promoting research and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Indra and Harry Banga Gallery of CityUHK is delighted to announce the groundbreaking exhibition “Might and Magnificence: Ceremonial Arms and Armour across Cultures.” As part of CityUHK’s 30th anniversary celebrations, the exhibition features nearly 200 ceremonial weapons and armors that span various cultures, countries, religions, and histories, revealing the true essence of ceremonial arms and armour—not merely as functional weapons, but also as profound symbols of cultural and social identity.

CityUHK participated in the 29th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku, Azerbaijan, between 14 and 16 November. On November 15, CityUHK signed an MoU with the United Nations Trade and Development to promote sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world.
