The COM of the CLASS at CityUHK has partnered with China Unicom on an anti-scam project that utilises big data and AI to combat global telecom scams. This collaboration was recognised as one of the outstanding cases by the World Internet Conference, highlighting CityUHK’s commitment to employing innovative technology to tackle real-world challenges and promote the integration of technology with social responsibility.

Professor Gérard Berry, a distinguished member of the French Academy of Sciences and the French Academy of Technologies, and a Gold Medal awardee from the French National Centre for Scientific Research, delivered a pivotal lecture on 6 November at the recent France-Hong Kong Distinguished Lecture Series, hosted by CityUHK to discuss the crucial role of “time” in computer science, as well as the design, semantics and applications of synchronous programming languages.
