City University of Hong Kong's School of Law (SLW) played host to the second WTO ambassador to visit the School this year when Ambassador Dr Toufiq Ali, Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the WTO, called on the School on 12 February. "It's a good experience to visit Hong Kong where I can look at how people have adjusted to the new situation in Hong Kong and China from an economic perspective," said Ambassador Ali, who currently chairs the WTO's Committee on Trade and Development.

On 25 November, seven days after the Independent Committee (IC) submitted a report on the recent events in the School of Law (SLW), the Council, decided unanimously to accept the IC's major findings and recommendations, but added a few caveats.
City University of Hong Kong received, in the late afternoon of 18 November, a full report from the Independent Committee on Review of Recent Events in the School of Law. The report is available in both English and Chinese versions, each some 300 pages long, containing the Independent Committee's findings of the whole process, its observations and specific recommendations.
