Some 17 students studying French courses in the French Section of City University's Division of Language Studies are the first students in Hong Kong to pass the Test de Connaissance du Francais (TCF) of the French Education Ministry, held on March 29, 2003.
Out-of-discipline (OD) courses are gaining more attention from faculties as a venue to fill educational needs currently not met in mainstream core curriculum. A novel scheme introduced by City University's Student Development Services (SDS) is making life easier for exchange and non-local undergraduate students. A signing ceremony between the Department of Computer Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) and Thiz Technology Group Ltd, a pioneer developer of the Linux platform and business software applications, took place on 4 March at CityU.
Two groups of City University Faculty of Business students outperformed more than 160 teams to win the Outstanding Project Award in the Corporate Governance for the New Generation Study Programme cum Youth Summit organized by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
